Vitamins & Supplements – A key to good health
Eating nutritious and well-balanced meals can be difficult these days, even quite possibly…impossible. Vitamins and minerals are used up every single day as our bodies create new strong muscles and cells, deal with stress, perspire and go through their daily metabolic actions. Essential nutrients, if not obtained in the proper amounts, or preserved, can lead to serious deficiencies.
Vitamins work inside the body's cells to keep our physiology functioning normally. Basic functions such as growing and healing depend on what vitamins are available to our bodies. Minerals are required for bones and nerve health as well as muscle tone.
Vitamins are obtained naturally from plant and animal foods. Minerals are extracted from the earth and are inorganic, non-living materials which are neither animal nor vegetable.
One important reason to consider adding a high quality vitamin/mineral supplement to our daily dietary intake is that we simply do not have sufficient variety in our diets. My average client eats only 50 different types of foods. The gold star winner of that survey was eating 78 different food types. How many different kinds of food do you consume?
We need to replace valuable and essential vitamins and minerals. They are lost not only during metabolic functions, but also from our exhaustion of them while repeatedly eating the same foods which may not be as vitamin and mineral-rich as our bodies need.
